Subscription box workflow.

Subscription is operationally different from one-off DTC. The recurring cohort, theme-of-the-month rhythm, and churn risk all change how fulfillment should work.

Theme box recipe defined

Each month (or quarter) you send us the theme box recipe — which SKUs, in what quantities, with what packout. We build it as a kit SKU in the WMS.

Pre-cohort assembly

We assemble the entire cohort in advance during off-peak hours. 1,000 September boxes, 1,500 October boxes — all pre-built and stored before the shipping window opens.

Cohort sync with subscription platform

Recharge, Cratejoy, Subbly, Bold — your subscription billing platform tells us who's getting which box. Active subscribers, paused subscribers, gift subscribers all routed correctly.

Cohort window shipping

Shipping window opens (e.g., 5th-15th of the month). All boxes ship in waves over that window for carrier capacity management. Each subscriber's box ships within their cohort window.

Skip/swap/cancel handling

Mid-cycle subscriber changes (skip this month, swap product, cancel) propagate from your platform to the WMS in real time. Boxes are reallocated, not wasted.

Tracking + branded notifications

Every subscriber gets tracking via your platform. Branded shipping notifications optional. Post-cycle reporting on shipped/delayed/cancelled.

Subscription growth is gross adds minus churn. We build to net active subscribers, not gross. Reduces over-assembly waste by 8-15% versus assembling to last-month's gross.

Which subscription platforms do you integrate with?

How do you handle skip-a-month and cancellations?
Real-time sync from your subscription platform. If a subscriber skips or cancels before their cycle ships, no box is built or shipped for them. Mid-cycle cancellations after billing are coordinated case-by-case.
How is subscription box pricing different?
Often priced as a flat per-box rate (typically $3-$6) that includes assembly, pick, pack, and ship. Predictable for unit economics. Can also use per-component standard pricing if you prefer.
Can you pre-assemble the whole cohort in advance?
Yes — this is the default for theme-box subscriptions. We build the cohort during off-peak weeks before the shipping window opens. Reduces peak-window operational load.
Do you handle international subscribers?
Yes. International shipping via DHL, FedEx International, or USPS Priority International. Per-cohort customs documentation generated automatically.
Can you do gift subscriptions and address changes?
Yes. Gift subscriptions ship to the recipient, billing receipt goes to the gifter. Address changes propagate from your platform to the WMS in real time.
