Why Matrix Fulfillment

Built by operators who've done this before.

Most 3PLs are run by warehouse people who learned e-commerce on the way. We're the other way around — we ran e-commerce brands first, then built the 3PL we wished we'd had. That background shows up everywhere.

Operating principles

Five reasons brands choose Matrix.

None of these are marketing language. Each is a structural decision we made when we started the company in 2017 — and continue to make every quarter.

01

We pick the software that's best — not the cheapest

We run on ShipHero WMS. It's not the cheapest option on the market and it's not the easiest to set up. It is the best at what it does, and DTC brands shipping millions of orders per year run on it for a reason. Most other 3PLs are running homegrown systems duct-taped together by their first hire ten years ago. You can feel the difference within a week.

02

One warehouse, one team, one accountable lead

We operate from a single Los Angeles facility, minutes from the Port of Long Beach. That means one team, one warehouse manager, and one named account lead per client. There's no "let me transfer you to the West Coast team" — there's just us. When something gets weird, you talk to the person who can fix it.

03

Month-to-month, because we should have to earn it every month

The standard 3PL playbook involves a one-year minimum contract with auto-renewal. We don't do that. 30 days notice to leave, no penalties, no auto-renewal trap. The only reason a 3PL needs a long-term contract is to compensate for service that customers would otherwise walk away from.

04

No order minimums, no setup fees, no platform fees

Onboard while you're shipping 50 orders a month. Or onboard at 10,000 a month. Same software, same pricing structure, same priority. We charge for receiving, storage, and pick/pack/ship — that's it. No "platform fee," no "tech fee," no "monthly minimum" creeping onto every invoice.

05

Itemized invoices, every line auditable

Every charge on your invoice ties to a specific service performed — a specific pick, a specific pallet received, a specific cubic foot of storage. If you ever wonder "what's this charge for," you can find it on the line item. No "miscellaneous fulfillment services" buckets, no aggregated fee categories.

FAQ

Why-Matrix questions, answered.

What makes Matrix Fulfillment different from other 3PLs?
Five things: we run on modern ShipHero WMS instead of legacy software; we operate from a single Los Angeles facility with one accountable account lead per client; we offer month-to-month contracts instead of annual lock-in; we have zero order minimums and zero setup fees; and every invoice is itemized so you can audit every charge.
Why does the WMS matter?
ShipHero is the WMS powering DTC brands shipping millions of orders annually. Real-time inventory sync, batch picking, mobile scan-pack, native integrations to 30+ platforms. Most 3PLs of our size run homegrown software that breaks every time you change a process or add a SKU type.
Do you require a long-term contract?
No. Month-to-month with 30 days notice to leave. No annual minimums, no early-termination penalties, no auto-renewal traps. The only reason a 3PL needs a long-term contract is to compensate for service customers would otherwise walk away from.
Are there hidden fees on invoices?
No. Every line item on your invoice ties back to a specific service performed — a specific pick, a specific pallet received, a specific cubic foot of storage. No "platform fee," no "tech fee," no "miscellaneous fulfillment services" buckets.
How small does a brand need to be to work with you?
No minimum. We onboard brands shipping their first 10 orders and brands shipping 10,000 a month with the same software, same team, and same pricing structure. The "small brands need a small 3PL" mindset is what other 3PLs use to justify charging you extra to grow with them.
